Women & Youth Empowerment in Conservation
Mwanamke Bora Leadership, #Score4Nature Youth Tournaments & Grassroots ToTs
Equipping 265 pastoralist women in VSLA financial leadership, educating 744 students in conservation literacy, qualifying 375 women Trainers of Trainers (ToTs) in smart agriculture and clean cooking, and engaging young environmental leaders through the inter-conservancy #Score4Nature tournament.
Conservation & Community Bottlenecks
Traditional patriarchal landownership systems historically excluded women and youth from conservancy boards, land lease decisions, and community leadership councils. Women bore the brunt of climate hardship while youth lacked employment pathways, creating economic vulnerability and generational friction.
What We Aim to Achieve
- ✓ Institutionalize the Amboseli Conservancies Women Forum to give women an active voice in landscape governance.
- ✓ Establish and support Village Savings & Loan Associations (VSLA) to foster women's financial independence.
- ✓ Deploy Social Analysis and Action (SAA) dialogue tools to address gender barriers, GBV, and leadership exclusion.
- ✓ Engage youth in environmental stewardship through conservation education, mentorship, and #Score4Nature sports tournaments.
